Introduction

In 2018 the international bar association’s presidential task force revised their ‘Cybersecurity Guidelines’ booklet, a 36-page handbook, complete with a checklist that helps to law firms understand risks and at a foundational level to improve cyber security practice. While it’s a definite step in the right direction there are a few revisions and extensions on a few points that are worth highlighting.
